I’m always surprised by the viewership I have. Little by little, I’ve been contacted by artists, both musically and visually about them either liking my blog or featuring their work(s). Don’t get me wrong, sometimes I get caught up in various works or just forget (Nicholas, I plan to put up a song from the record you sent me, one that I dug near the end of the album) but I’m hoping to get hipped to more peoples works, but remember, and don’t take it personal, but as the description of this blog mentions, I blog things I like or am inspired by… this isn’t a page for using me to build your success, but maybe you make some connections, maybe you don’t.

Nick contacted me directly and with taking a look at some of his work, decided to share a couple shots. If you’d like to see more, check him out here. He’s currently in his 2nd year @ Texas A & M U.

He’s got a lot of potential for getting into advertising if he chooses, but seems pretty solid currently as a photo journalist. I don’t want to limit him but enjoy a few select shots, and check his site out to see more from this aspiring professional photographer.

He has great post-editing and colors and contrast with most of his works.

A couple things:

Seenby goes international and is holding an auction: Anyone that orders pictures on seen.by by 31 December, automatically donates 20 percent of their order total to Kids With Cameras. The Calcutta-based charity teaches needy and poor children photography, so as to secure a humane future for them.

The Film Born into Brothels was a very inspiring film to me being an artist both visually and musically that using the talents and abilities we have to help others can truly make a difference, and all it takes is the heart to care and the time to do something about any given issue. Zana, the woman in the film documentary helped get this organization going by starting to help these kids express themselves through photography.

Below is an excerpt from an interview with Lisa Robinson, Director of Kids with Cameras that gives insight into the lives of 2 of the children that were in the documentary and their current state based around Zana’s interaction with them, Hope House and Kids With Cameras.

Are there examples of how life has changed for children after the workshop?
Kids with Cameras is currently supporting two children, who were part of the Born into Brothels documentary. Avijit graduated from high school in America and is now in his second year at New York University, where he is studying Film. Kochi is currently at a private boarding school in Utah, where she has blossomed and is producing excellent results. Other children from the film had the opportunity of going to private schools in Calcutta. This enabled them to leave the conditions of the red light district. The majority of the children made the most of this opportunity, however several also decided against it.

Zero 7 “Today” feat: Jose Gonzalez.

Sometimes today is all we have! Tomorrow’s not promised, yesterday is past, decisions today are all we have to fix a wrong in the past for a brighter future, or commit the ills that hinder or stifle the brighter glory days the future of our lives can hold. Rough times will always be present, but choices today truly prepare us with the ammunition to handle tomorrows joys and challenges!

I like the color, composition and lighting of this portrait. The reflection in the window is lovely too. Read below for what this was a part of.

*The “Farbwerte – SchwarzRotGold“ (colour values – redblackgold) project deals with the question of German identity and the various forms of its depiction. Project initiator Robert Eysoldt challenged 60 designers from all over the world to incorporate the German flag into artworks. A total of 100 exhibits has been produced. 40 people in fashion, economics and culture were photographed with the German flag afterwards.
